Has anyone here left children behind?
Hi all,
Has anyone here left children from previous marriages behind. If so would you be open to a private 'chat'. I need some advice please on what is a very sensitive subject. Thank you

Not from a previous marriage. I did leave my 19 year old there so not quite the same but still very hard.

Re: Has anyone here left children behind?
we actually came to NZ to join our children, but I was 45 when we spent 2 years in Australia in the mid 1980s leaving behind our 18 yr old daughter but taking our 15yr old son with us . He wasn't very happy there and I was very unhappy without my daughter. eventually our son went home and we followed 5 months later. It is very hard if you've been used to having the kids close by in the UK, however old. Sorry to be a bit negative but that's how it was for us. we enjoyed a good social life and made friends, British and Aussie but I missed the kids and my parents.

We left our 19 year old son behind who was off to university (2003).
He still lives in the UK, with a very successful career.
