Fight with a can opener.
Is it just me or are the methods of opening cans in NZ different to the UK? I have just wrestled a can to get the contents out. Advice please.

Maybe invest in a new can opener and stop using your pet shark to chew them open?

Are you using a can opener from K-Mart or The Warehouse by any chance?

I've not noticed that the cans are upside down, but have you noticed that toilet door locks are backwards??

The opener looked identical to those expensive ones too. I have taken it back to a certain Emporium in Tauranga today and exchanged for something else. Good 'ole Mr AJ there was no fuss at all once the the; now rinsed; can had been spied.

I've got a can opener that cuts below the rim like that. I actually brought it over with me from the UK, so it's not particularly a NZ thing. I don't like it though because it leaves a really sharp edge that I have cut myself on.
Maybe the tin is a bit thin? I can't say I've ever done that much damage.
How's the new one working out?

I have ordered a quality product from the UK to be delivered in person very soon. This cans here maybe slightly different, never had an issue in the UK. We have purchased one from Stevens but it is still on the backing cardboard and waiting for promotion to first choice 'opener' when I next try a can.
I'll keep you on 'tenterhooks' but once done I'll register it on here.
