Don't know if you know the rules have changed on pensions
Hi all
So a little nugget I have picked up....ALL publicly (partially or fully)....I.e military, NHS, civil service etc are no longer allowed to be transferred out of the U.K
Although this came out last year I'm now told it's being enforced
Just though you'd like to know

Anyone who voluntarily transfers out of a defined benefit scheme in favour of a defined contribution scheme probably needs their head examining.

The ability to transfer an unfunded Government pension (NHS, Police etc) was announced in the 2015 UK budget. It should be noted that Defined Contribution schemes and company pensions can be transferred. Some Civil Service pensions can be transferred, such as Local Council pensions, always best to check to confirm.

With Brexit now in progress, it is unlikely this will change, however we will be watching the UK budget or signs of any changes in the coming months.
