Mostly a non-event unless you were on the east coast of the North Island.
I think Metservice overestimated it's effect considering how small the centre
was.
Cyclone Bola in the 80's was much more damaging.

Apparently passed right over the top of us but in all honesty we've had worse non-advertised / non-emergency storms in Wellington. Yeah it was lashing rain and pretty windy but no damage and nothing was flung about the garden. We did lose the power at 6pm as a pole toppled down the lane and that took until 1pm today till back on and Im glad to say that's about the extent of the excitement.
