You clearly enjoy researching your stuff........pity you didn't do quite so much, before arriving here. The rest of us who are happy with our decision, researched everything, more than once and some of us had a recce' to make sure. I now earn what I expected and live a life I enjoy..........

The first impression while arriving is " as polite/soft spoken as a kiwi ". The last impression while departing is " as bloody miser as a kiwi ".

This thread is not about individual skills or abilities - accept the facts - the percentage of high wage earners in NZ is exceptionally low for a so called first world country.

Only a Genius can rate someone as excellent, good, average or poor - almost all genius kiwis are now working outside New Zealand and the local kiwis only require someone with a pair of hands to do the job and a pair of legs to reach the office.

Kiwis are the least nationalistic people I have met - NZ is a place to grow up, not to work - the day that Australia ceases free work access for them - all doom and gloom for NZ.

Jim Bolger may have said in the past:
" Those Kiwis who leave for Australia raise the average IQ of both nations ".

I would say:
" Those Kiwis who leave for Australia raise the average per capita income of both nations " - NZ 's figure could have been worse without Australia.

An average Aussie boss who genuinely values an individual's previous experience/skills is obviously far better than a SuperSmart Kiwi boss who always keeps thinking:

" Can I find someone $1 cheaper ? "

How do you work that one out? It doesn't make sense. The incomes for the kiwis living in Oz come under the Australian statistics.

Would you say the same thing about the UK and all those other countries with comparable average incomes? Is nationalism a positive or negative attribute? I thought NZ was regarded by many as overly nationalistic??? Perhaps I'm wrong on that then?

Kiwis Only exhibit nationalism when Australia loses in Sport

On 6 October 2007, All Blacks were knocked out by lowly France in Rugby world cup - a Shock Defeat !!!

Obviously, the kiwis were gutted. In a television interview, a very old kiwi lady remarked:

" The only consolation is that Australia is also out "

having lost to England the very same day.

Imagine a very old lady (possibly 90+) saying that...

That's because Australia pretty much beats NZ at everything and rugby is generally the only thing we're really good at sporting wise. It becomes rather demoralising when they start beating us at that too.

A kiwi would rise from his/her Coma to watch Australia lose.

Indeed, what would the the employment rate of NZ look like if we didn't have the rich Auntie Australia living next door?

There are now more New Zealand-born people living in Australia than there are living in either Christchurch or Wellington and many of those will undoubtedly be supporting extended families or have properties and business interests over here, or still contributing to the Kiwi economy in some shape or form.

Ahem

Let's all keep calm shall we. Perhaps everyone should take a look at the BE site rules, especially Nos 1 & 2, pretty please .

If anyone has any issues with what is written on this site then please report it to any of us Mods.

May I also suggest the use of the ignore button, for those posters who press all your wrong buttons . Sadly us mods can't use this function

Keep calm & carry on

Do you really think people will be sending back money to brothers, sisters, cousins etc from Australia? There are just as many in Oz complaining about not being able to make ends meet, the economy, house prices etc etc. It's not some sort of giant money tree.

Of course they do.
Of course you're right.
There, there.
NZ= bad; anywhere else you care to compare to NZ= good.

Life's too short, move on and find somewhere you like- NZ will struggle on without you

What I don't understand is why, if the place is so bad, are you still here?
Why haven't you joined your fellow genii in Australia?
