What TV/Internet services do you use?
Hey all,
Another question!! (Sorry)
I was wondering what TV and internet services you use? As soon as I get my BSN and bank account sorted I need internet as soon as possible, and of course TV.
I have researched a few services, like KPN and canaldigitaal. But was wondering what you use.
Any advise? What is the time frame of installing internet?
Thanks in advance!

We're with Ziggo, but I can't advise what the timescale is..... my boyfriend got it all installed years ago before I was on the scene!

Depending on where you live the main cable TV supplier will be UPC or Ziggo. Only one or the other.
then there are some alternatives like tele2 and kpn etc
I have UPC and can't fault the services really.
Most places will already have a connection to the network, so most of the time its just take the hardware home, install it, and wait for them to flick the switch on your address so that you have access

I can't speak for other providers but Ziggo is a bit the cheap and nasty option. Their customer service is horrible (I personally know a customer service manager for Ziggo, the call centre is here in Brabant) and they don't usually speak English over the phone.

Hi Katie, I also live in Haarlem
I needed the internet for my job when I got here in Aug and waiting for the BSN to come through meant I couldn't get set up for nearly 2 weeks!
In the meantime, I used the wifi at 'La Place' (kinda like Starbucks-meets-Toby Carvery type chain). There's one in V&D dept store, but the one next to HaarlemHout park area is much bigger and full of people plugging in and working, so I preferred it there.
Also, the library has a cafe attached to it with wifi.
As for internet company, we went with UPC (not the best TV-wise) but only cos they could hook us up straight away, KPN were quoting 6 weeks!
Hope that's kinda helpful...

No matter where you move, you will have internet access. That is a given. So please don't worry. We're with Caiway (best out of all providers we've used) but it does depend on where you live as to who you can use. Regardless, on the whole, Dutch internet is generally faster than the UK speeds.
