Tax on monetary gifts
I occasionally receive gifts of money from my parents in England. This goes in to my English bank account, and some of it is then transferred to the Netherlands. Does any one know how the tax works for this, please? These gifts are usually for my birthday and Christmas, although this year there will be an extra gift to help me buy a house. My parents have lived all their lives in England. I come from England, but now live, work and pay taxes in the Netherlands.
