hello, I purchased a vehicle in Amstelveen that needs an APK inspection before I can get export plates. Can anybody recommend a trustworthy place to get this done? Trying to avoid make work artists

Any workshop which has a license to do APK inspections should be fine.

In theory yes, but I think what OP is looking for is recommendations of trusted garages, if anyone in the Amstelveen area has experience. We all know that one garage may be RDW registered but tells you a whole lot needs repaired.

Yes that is exactly my point, some garages only need an excuse for a make work project

Judging from your ID you want to export to Canada? I know the VW Camper is a pretty popular export to there..

APK will only really tell you that the vehicle is safe/approved for use on Dutch roads.

I know the criteria for Canada are pretty tough in general.

Another option is to have the vehicle inspected by ANWB where they do a detailed inspection and tell you about it's general condition, and after that get an APK if it's a requirement.

Hopefully you have some kind of service history for the vehicle..there are a lot of ropey ones around.
