: : Visiting The UK - Questions About Immigration/Border Control : :
My wife and I plus our 2 year old son will be visiting the UK in August.
I hold dual Citizenship with UK/Canada and carry both Passports. My wife and Son both have Canadian passports (though my Son is by birth a dual citizen of both UK/Canada).
When we arrive at London Heathrow, there are two routes with regards immigration (one for British Passport holders and one for non-British Passport holders) we are wondering if it is possible for us all to enter the UK together (instead of being separated) via the ‘British Passport Holder’ entrance or if we will need to be split up i.e. my wife and Son go one way and I have to go the other way?
If we are both going different directions and there is some kind of issue, we will have no way of contacting each other to let one another know. Plus, my Son will probably get upset if I leave and they are left on their own in a long queue.
Many thanks for any help you can provide.

My Canadian partner and I normally use the non-European line together, but we're normally flying into Bristol which has predominantly European passport holders arriving, meaning we can walk straight through an empty non-European line. Heathrow will certainly have a different demographic of arriving travellers.

Whichever line you choose, go together, since you are entering as a family and the authorities like to see all documentation for family together.

When we arrived in Scotland in May we were told after waiting in a very long line up that next time we can just use the line for UK/EU citizens. My husband and 3 children are dual UK/Can citizens and I am a Canadian citizen.
