Friends right now are at LHR, ready for their flight out here, little boy thrown up in departures, probably due to travel sickness, and they wont let them fly!!
they have to travel back home (round trip of 300 miles) get a doctors certificate and "try again tomorrow"!!!

Never heard of it in the back of the eye. Must have been excruciating. I broke out with it all over my face just six months before my wedding. Looked like elephant man for weeks (while trying to sell my house - had to wear a hoodie every time I opened the door to buyers; amazed I actually got anyone to buy the contagion centre). Luckily just had the cut-off eyebrow and twitchy brow by the time the wedding came about. Thank God for eyebrow pencil.
Damn, it hurts. Never had so much pain in my life. I was so glad the day they gave me Vicodin. Seriously worshipped that drug.

They are also a reason for my often lousy typing - eyes just go out of focus at will :curse:

In doing some research for a friend, I found that shingles is less prevalent in developing countries. The theory is that by being continuously exposed to varicella (the virus that causes chicken pox and later shingles) in children, adults keep their immune systems boosted -- a sort of mini-vaccination -- which suppresses the virus from re-emerging as shingles. If this is true, shingles rates will increase as fewer and fewer children have the disease due to THEM getting vaccinated against it.

I had it in both eyes, about 4 years ago, as well as a few other places. Permanently damaged my sight, so I now have to wear quite strong glasses; worst bit is that my sight varies a lot, and while the glasses "work" one minute, the next minute I am squinting. very annoying and not good at all! I have such serious doubts about the ability of my eyes to be stable for a while that they are a big factor in the reason I daren't learn to drive - one minute I can see number plates clearly, the next they are just one big blur.

Could you put this in really little words for me? Especially, do we want the varicella vaccination yes or no?
