Not highly unlikely at all - if done online the software will be looking for keywords, certain minimum criteria, etc. and when A-levels are not listed that can disqualify an applicant regardless of other qualifications as the software simply won't look beyond that missing info as a pair of human eyes would. This is common in human resources software (this is a big reason why people applying to jobs online are told to mirror terminology used in the job posting - so that the software will pick them up) and I expect the type of programs the OP will be dealing with will be similar, if not exactly the same.
