The electorate votes in this last election proves nothing

Even though the SNP won most all of the seats, the votes in Scotland were not all for the SNP

Very true. In a democracy, party fortunes wax and wane. The SNP could lose favour with the electorate, lose just a few percentage points in the popular vote (in both Holyrood and Westminster elections) and end up out of power. It happened in Quebec.

Don't really think they have that in Edinburg either, just sayin'.

is this what you mean?

- That the Trident & the naval bases in Scotland should ALL be closed down & moved to Wales or England thereby creating more jobs elsewhere & as a result of this, there would be direct job losses plus all the spin off jobs losses in Scotland

- I would say that there is too much manufacturing in Scotland that should also be moved to Wales or Scotland to create a better balance spreading out manufacturing all across the UK. More job losses it Scotland

-That all or any head offices that the Londoners or toffs have including GOV.UK that is based in Scotland, should be moved out back to England or Wales. Why on earth would you have English corporate, even manufacturing based in Scotland ever ... its just not right having jobs taken away from the English, Welsh or Northern Irish

- And if there are any Scottish origin owned companies based in England they should all be kicked out back to Scotland

- As for farming, why should there be any, because surely its cheaper to produce & lower cost from the EU countries

- Look at the largest circulated newspapers in Scotland that are either English or American owned - its just not right

- Now thats the British way of doing things right

Interesting link. I believe Scotland currently benefits disproportionately from UK research grants.

Sheffield North of the line and Stoke is South.
I doubt it will happen and there are too many English living in Scotland now. If Scotland was independent, I'm sure they'd manage if the right people were in charge. Ireland is a great example, but Scottish independence would mean competition for us when it comes to FDI

of course & we could continue that Scotland would be better off without the English

As for the Scottish whisky industry as one, isn't it sacrilege

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/16/bu...here.html?_r=0

"Non-Scottish companies control about four-fifths of the £4.2 billion, or $6.5 billion, global market for Scotch, which is being driven by growth from emerging markets. The United States is still the biggest export market by value, at £600 million last year. But Scotch whisky exports to Brazil grew 48 percent last year, those to Taiwan 45 percent and to Venezuela 33 percent, according to the Scotch Whisky Association."

Then the 'foreign corporate ownership money' in all that is North sea oil' jobs created.

Those self interest Londoners & toffs are to blame

The 'horrible Whitehall' story works both ways - "sod off then"; although I have seen that referred to as the new racism #CantWin

the NO vote sort of said that didn't it

Then there is the EU referendum - the result of which will likely also be NO

With the new government, the SNP's Sturgeon will tell the folks in Scotland that she will secure something better for Scotland than any referendum YES vote, all because she has 56 seats in Parliament - while behind closed doors Cameron will be doing Merkel on her... shut up, follow my lead & take it back to your electorate the way I script it for you.

Can't you just see Sturgeon begging...'Please sir can we have more', the result as you know is 'freck off'

I don't know but I'm not keen on Balkanisation. They seem to get quite a few perks in Scotland, I haven't studied in detail what more is being asked for.

They tried it in the Balkans and it doesn't seem to be ending well.

Hmm last time I checked there was more to England than London.
And as for no manufacturing or Farming in London - well right, neither is there in Edinburgh or Glasgow, I think city folks don't like the idea of sheep roaming their streets.

There is more farming and manufacturing in England than the rest of the UK put together.

Seriously folks bringing up a class divide, or recounting history of 300 years ago is pointless, in today's world, being a strong single voice is better than being 3 or 4 smaller voices when there are external (and internal immigrant) aggressors everywhere trying to destroy our way of life.
