Default Surinder Singh route planned - whats taking so long??

Hi Guys!

We've been planning the surinder aingh route since feb - i am british husband is Indian, 2 young children also with british passports, submitted application for 'spouse of an EU national visa' at the irish embassy end of feb.... still waiting!!! No response from the embassy other than that they are experiencing delays.

I had hoped to be gone by May, bit now who knows when it will be. Anyone have any experience in this and how long it usually takes?? I was told on submitting the application 20 days...pffft

Since Brxit, there have been a huge amount of applications to Ireland for passports, so i imagine this is holding things up.

Something you need to of course think about is the consequence of Brexit. If it occurs prior to you doing the route, then it may no longer be possible to do it after the UK leaves the EU.

Don't worry, Article 50 is years away from being triggered, keep in mind the referendum vote means absolutely nothing at this point, until the Government makes their move its business as usual.

Is it not a breach to the directive for them to take this long to issue a visa?? According to the xirective they are supppsed to fast track these applications.
