I have tried searching for a broker that specialises in providing mortgages where one of the applicant are a non EU spouse with not much luck. Most of them say they can do it but I want to know my broker is really experienced in this area before picking them.

Any recommendations?

The majority of mortgages out there see to be restricted to UK or EU nationals. Now there may be exceptions if the main applicant is British. There maybe restrictions on my because I was not resident in the UK until 10 months ago. These are the kinds of areas I want the broker to have experience in. Applying for the wrong mortgage and being rejected will damage our credit score, absolutely something we want to avoid.

You wouldn't get as far as applying for a mortgage if the lender won't accept you, so that's not an issue.

You're not in the UK now so can you clarify your situation - are you looking to buy in the UK with a mortgage living abroad, or are you moving to the UK and hoping to buy then, or something else?

I am in the UK, I returned in March after living abroad for 9 years.
