Number of animals allowed in a London rental (versus purchased property)
Hi all.
We will be brining our 4 dogs and 2 cats over with us.
Now, just wondering if there's a law of some sort limiting how many animals you're allowed in a RENTED property IN London, versus a RENTED property in Kent/counties, versus an OWNED property IN London, versus an OWNED property in Kent/counties.
I'm just trying to figure out whether we'll be forced to look at buying straight away once we move to London versus renting and only buying after we've lived there for a year or so. Also, I don't want us to look at buying in certain areas and then find out that there are city restrictions where neighbours are allowed to object and then we end up having to move.
Has anyone had any experience regarding this?

With that many animals you will find most, if not all, renters will not rent to you.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm beginning to gather that renting is going to be tough - but that IF we do, we'll need to be looking at Kent anyway. More chances of more space, more accommodating neighbours and (as PistolPete says) more chances of landlords being animal lovers

Renting will be difficult with that many pets but if you do find a landlord that will allow that many, you may find it isn't the nicest of houses and you will have to pay an increased deposit. If you can find an empty let, then the landlord will tend to be more likely to break their own rules and take pets as they are having to pay their own mortgage while the house is empty.
London rented houses tend to be in demand, so they often won't take pets as they can easily find tenants without them.

Very few landlords will accept animals in what is considered a desirable property as other posters have indicated. I suggest you buy your own property if possible

Thanks for the additional feedback guys. It looks like buying first is the best option. Just have to make sure the area is right and transport links are good. At least monthly mortgage payments will be going to our own house and not someone else's
