Returning UK citizen w/US spouse...

If a citizen of the UK has been living in the USA for 10+ years, during that time has married a US citizen, and now desires to reverse migrate back to the UK:
* what is the procedure for that UK citizen to immigrate his spouse?
* roughly how long would it take from 1st application to being able to land at Heathrow?
* what benefits, if any, will the American be eligible for upon arrival (e.g., subsidized university? NHS? work permit?
* how long must the American immigrant live in the UK to qualify to naturalize?

Many thanks.

1. http://ww.ukvisas.gov.uk

2. Not that long, always depends. A few months, perhaps?

3. NHS yes. Work permit, not needed with a spouse visa. Subsidised university, not before 3 years residence.

4. 3 years (spouse of a British citizen) but it may be raised to 5 years by 2010/11.
