You must put a UK address!
Can it be a relatives address as we don't know where we are going to live?

I wont be living there but that's what I've done ... I really don't like lying on official forms.

It's not lying. Customs & Excise just want a UK contact address in case they need one if something is amiss.

It's just the same as the Canada immigration people wanting a Canadian address to mail a PR card to.

They are not asking for a contact address!

It says ... "State your new address or your normal place of residence in the UK"

That is not the same as asking for a contact address!

I have no new address in the UK .. I have no normal place of residence in the UK! ... Therefore I lied!

You're asked for one of two things - your new address OR your normal place of residence ..... Where does it say you have to live at your "new address"? .... It doesn't!

If you think they're not asking where you're going to live then you're living in a dreamworld!

So, from what you quoted, paraphrasing per your post ("where you're going to live") they're asking "State where you're going to live or your normal place of residence in the UK". .... How is that not asking for the same information twice? (Clue: it is asking for the same information twice!

From what you yourself quoted, they are clearly asking for your choice of two alternative pieces of information: EITHER an address where you can be contacted OR your new home address. If you don't a

If you don't agree with that, perhaps you'd care to explain why they ask for the same information twice, separated by an "or"?
