Exclamation Queen's staff called to emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace

As I am in New Zealand I only have access to the articles in my time zone.
No doubt better reports about this will appear soon.

Queen's staff called to emergency meeting.

All sorts flying around down here that someone has died. However this has been debunked by others with a "don't panic Captain Mannering" , both Queen & Prince Philip are still with us .

Whatever. The media is gathering close to Buck House in case of an 8am announcement.

The BBC would not comment until they were given the go ahead.

Rumour is that it's about refurbishments at Buck House.

It could also be to do with the state opening of Parliament after the election. Apparently HM will be 'dressed down' for the occasion, e.g. day dress and hat rather than crown and robes.

Pleased it is nothing more than this for him. At his age he should be allowed to retire.
Here is hoping his health & rascally wit stays with him.

What did they, offer him the early retirement package? The lazy old sod!

Or maybe they are afraid what he'll say to Trump or Ivanka when they come calling later this year?
