Default Parsons Green bomb explosion

More sad news for London and the UK.

Parsons Green bomb explosion

People are injured . People will suffer

I really do not know what this world I had such hopes for is coming to.

It happens. In the US there is a school shooting every week. Look at those Rohingya in Burma being g slaughtered. Humanity still has a way to go, unfortunately. Don't let it get you down, with news coverage these days it's easy to get overly impacted by a tragedy which in fact does not effect you.

True enough. Manchester impacted on a few members of my husband's family. This does not. I suppose it's the overall feel of the world being a less safe place. Always something not so good.

Sorry to hear that.

They say that these kind of attacks may last for a decade or two. Let's hope not, but given the amount of radicalisation out there, the prospect isn't good.

Commentator on BBC Radio 4 said today "The UK is in a state of war". I think he is right.

War against whom? Against "terror"? Hasn't that been done before. I don't think it's meaningful to characterise it as "war". It's a terrorist campaign, no more, no less.

Suspect arrested Parsons Green: Man arrested over Tube bombing - BBC News
No mention of the suspect's religion. Though we hardly need to guess.

How could one get "overly" impacted ? Seems quite the reverse- society is accepting such incidents as just unavoidable costs of multiculturalism.

People can start getting glued to the 24h news coverage and absorbing many of the mini tragedies. I've certainly done it on past tragedies. Get to know people's stories and despair. In a sense the media feeds off that. So I was just suggesting that since this will be ongoing, we might need to be more detached. Sad though it is.

Thats a very dismissive attitude. How do you know what effects people and doesnt? I work for the tube, stations all over Zone 1 mostly, not to mention I use it every day.

Fortunately I'm abroad on annual leave at the moment but could have easily been sitting on that train.

Next time something happens in your area Ill be sure to post for people to forget about it and not worry because it doesnt effect me...idiot.

The war is with DAESH and others of that ilk. What is happening in Iraq and Syria is closely connected with these events in Europe.

Try not that stay in the sun too long, you'll get sunstroke and start spouting nonsense.

There are 5 people killed every day on the roads in the UK ... maybe we should be more concerned by that than terrorism?

Plenty of teen stabbings too. That's even more tragic as it's relatively preventable.

Having said that, it's so fortunate this nail bomb didn't go off.
