How Do I renew British Passport From Toronto

Hi Group,

This is a great site!!!! Just looking for some help here. I have been on the British consulate website but I am a bit confused. I am a dual citizen Canadian / British. I was born in Canada and have acquired British citizenship as my father was born there. I got my first British passport in 1997, and it subsequently expired in 2007. My question is, what documents do I need to send with the application for a new passport? Can I just send in new photos, the application form, and my old passport since I am already a British Citizen? I am confused becuase on one part of the application instructions, it says I need to send my registration of birth abroad (which I never got), my dad's birth certificate, parents marriage certificate etc...

Really, I just need to know what documents they must have.

Thanks for all your help

I don't think there will be many people in the Canada forum who are British by descent and will know the answer. I'm going to move your post to the "Moving Back to the UK" forum where hopefully someone will be along soon with some help for you :)

http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/faqs-...ewpassport.asp

Check this website for renewing your passport whilst living overseas. Application forms can be downloaded from that page.

Here is the address of the British High Commission in Ottawa for passport renewal:
