Guildford Area
We (hubby and two children under 5, plus 1 dog) are moving back to UK next October. We are looking at Guildford area because of husbands job. What schools are good in Guildford?
What's the price of daycare in UK?
We are moving back from USA. I'm originally from Brighton, husband is American.
I understand that we will have to apply in the December of next year for the following September school term, is that correct? We'll be renting to start then hopefully buy after a year or two.
I've been out of the country for 12 years, so have no credit, so starting from scratch...
Can't wait to be back though!

Re: Guildford Area
We worked in Guildford for years before leaving the UK. We lived in Frimley for some time (about 25 minute commute) and we live on the other side of Surrey in Boxhill for a while too (45 mins).
I really like Guildford and the surrounding villages. It's a lovely county town - there's not too many bad areas to be honest, and I'd say that the few areas that look a bit rough are a bit rough!
Play with the Dept of Education school (league) tables website and consume with the usual pinch of salt.
I find the BBC pages often easier to navigate:Primary school league tables: Best results - BBC News

I lived in Woking, which is about four miles from Guildford.
I've visited Guildford often. It's got great amenities.
So has Woking. It's commutable by train to London in about 25 mins.
