Filipino Wife To The UK.
Hey, I am British national currently living in Japan with my Filipino girlfriend who has permanent residency here. We are getting married next month and i want her to move back to the UK with me, I am completely new to the requirements and visa thing. Can somebody in the simplest terms tell me what we would need to do? I am completely clueless right now and scared that i cannot move to UK with her. What would be the best way to do this?
She is Filipino national with permanent residency in Japan since birth. Im not sure if that changes anything. We have been together for over 1 year and both want to move out of Japan back to England.
Thanks

You would be better off posting your question in the following part of BE.
Citizenship/Passports and Spouse/Family Visas (UK) - British Expats
There is plenty of advice on there and in the stickies, but basically there are two routes, earnings and savings. With earnings you must be in a job earning at least £18,600 a year, or the equivalent, and have a job to go to in the UK starting within 3 months of arrival earning at least £18,600 a year, if going the saving route you will need £62,500 in the bank for at least 6 months prior to the application, unless the money comes from the sale of a house where the 6 months is waived.

I would not have earned £18,600 this year due to moving and being jobless for most. I have read many times that if i go back to the UK I can work for 6 months and that would be enough to prove i am earning £18,600 per year ( Which i can do in the UK ) Im wondering if this is true or not?

Welcome to BE. I see you have opened a similar thread in our UK Immigration forum...so I will close this one.
