Default Customs Form C3

A question for those of you who made it back to blighty from outside the EU with you personal belongings and possessions and had to complete/submit Customs form C33.

The form asks for personal details and only has room for one name.

Do you complete one C33 for the family or do you need to complete separate forms (i.e. one for myself and one for my wife).

The form asks for personal details and only has room for one name and there are of course declarations to sign.

Thanks

Hi Bobby, when we filled in the form our shippers gave us, we were advised to just use my husband's name as the UK citizen (I'm an Australian on a spouse visa). That seemed to work ok, so I'm supposing that one name and signature for the entire consignment is fine.

The C3 is a personal declaration; in the case of a family, either partner can complete on behalf of everybody in the household.

If thats the case, there is a part that asks is the move for marriage reasons? Obviously for my wife it is but for me it is not, and the answer to the question means you either jump a few questions or not. Is there a difference in fees we pay depending who completes the declaration?

Presume that means "are you shipping these items because you are getting married" ? you are already married so I believe the answer is no. They are just family personal belongings. When we moved here, just my name was on the documents and everything was shipped as "personal/household belongings".

That makes sense. Thanks.
