Cell phone in England?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but didn't know where to ask this question.
My daughter and I are visiting Manchester for 2 weeks, our Cricket cell phones won't work over there.
No idea what to do ( not been back in a long time)
So,only need a cell phone for the 2 weeks, what's the best way to do this?
Daughter has to get on to Facebook take pictures etc.
Thanks in advance

Re: Cell phone in England?
Do you mean that you need cell phone service? If your current phones are unlocked then just buy a pay as you go sim only.
more details here?

We use fon for free wireless hotspots in the UK. I paid $10 on woot for lifetime subscription. I am not sure if Fon is still available in the US, might be worth a look. There seemed to be thousands of BT-Fon hotspots all over

Re: Cell phone in England?
When I'm visiting England and need cell and data service, I purchase a pre-paid SIM card upon arrival at the airport.
At Heathrow, you can purchase them from a vending machine in the baggage arrival lounge for around £15 to £20. They give you something like 500 minutes of airtime, unlimited text messages and plenty of data. I've normally set it up and informed people of my new UK number before my suitcase has arrived!
Just make sure you have the appropriate tool to pop open your SIM tray.
