My two cents worth. Out of the country for 34 years, no problem getting no claims accepted. no claims was from Canadian insurance company and we got a letter that met the criteria before we left Canada.

The first year I got back from Spain I paid almost £1,200 (which is the most I've ever paid for Insurance). I used comparison sites and contacted a few companies myself but still ended up paying through the nose. This year, my friend told me to contact a brokers. They honoured my Spanish NCB and my insurance dropped to just over £250.

I advise everyone returning to the UK to contact an insurance broker when looking for car insurance. I used Keith Michaels and would highly recommend them.
