Hi,

I lived abroad for less that 2 years and I returned to the UK last year. I applied for a returning visa as I had ILT in the UK. I got my biometric resident permit and I would like to know when can I apply for a British passport. Knowing that I was married to a British spouse.

You will need to meet the residency requirements in addition to having ILR and being married to a British citizen.

You'll need to naturalise before you can apply for a British passport. To apply for naturalisation you'll need to pass a Life in the UK test and meet the English language requirement if you haven't already done so. You'll also need three years of residence in the UK after you returned before you meet the residence requirements.

Somehow I (erroneously) assumed the OP meant applying for naturalization, rather than a passport. That's why I posted the links to that application. (Face palm)
