Working in Al Quarayyat = Wife in Jordan?

Working in Al Quarayyat = Wife in Jordan?
Hi My husband has been offered a job in Al Quarayyat, he has previously worked in SA and I lived in Bahrain. This time I think Jordan will be closer for me to live but am not sure if that's right or where the best place to live would be.
He was told it is an hours drive to Jordan from where he will be based but not which border crossing would be best..
Ideally I would like to live closest to his crossing, but also within an expat community where there is a Rugby club/British Club or other drinking/social amenities. Just so you get the idea, in Bahrain we were 10 minutes from the causeway and 2 minutes crawling distance from the rugby club.
Any info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with AlQarayyat, all I know that's 1 hour long to Jordan and I don't think you will find what you are looking for over there. (Just guessing)
