Ok so I had a meeting today to discuss a job in Abu Dhabi. Can't say what it is yet, but it really is breathtaking with regards to the opportunity presented.
Anyway a typical package was discussed and I just wanted to run it past you folks to see if it is reasonable.
The basic is 30K AED per month. 12k per month rental allowance, 3k per month car allowance.
35k one off settlement allowance (for furniture etc), full relocation package (20 ft container etc) paid by the company.
Full healthcare (Eyes, teeth and total health). Annual gratuity.
Now to me it appears pretty good, and I have to wait for a formal offer to come through but I will try and negotiate more I think.
One question!! Is there any possible problems with my girlfriend being over there on a visitor visa and doing the visa run every 60 days. Is the issuing of visitor visas finite, i.e. will I have to buy the cow eventually?

They've just changed the visit visa rules. You can only do it three times now before the person has to leave the country for 2 months

If you mean that the 30k *includes* the rental and car allowances, that's somewhat less good, but still a lot better than most people here get.

Total package is 45k a month.

45k a month is a very good salary - but whether it is reasonable or not depends on what the job is ........

Depends on how much your wife/girlfriend is into her designer gear

She is into designer gear in a big way, but she she is independently wealthy so I don't have to pay for it.

what is a good and then a brilliant salary (in the UAE) if 45k will allow you a normal standard?
