Default Hotel Apartments

Hi,

My contract has 3 month trial period with the first month in paid accomadation. For the rest of the trial period its been recommended to me that I stay in hotel/apartments serviced/apartments. This makes sense to me as I don't want to commit to a long term lease if it all does tits up.

Can anyone recommend somewhere- I'll be on my own so don't need a massive pad and everywhere I can find online is set up for a family of 4-my boss has recommended a place around the corner from the office but I'd quite like to find somewhere in an area I would choose to live in so that I can start finding my way about.

So I'm working close to the Lamcy Mall but had been looking at the Marina area to live- can anyone recommend anywhere that isn't going to rip me off and would have a flat suitable for a single girl not a family?

So I'd be looking for somewhere for October and November.

Thanks

Cat

IMHO living in the Marina while working near Lamcy Plaza is far from ideal, but that's just me

I been looking for staff who come over from UK on short term basis.., I was very impressed with the Grand Midwest studio and one bedroom hotel apartments, the standard is very high and it's all new
- starting at AED299++

For myself., my own lease is finishing soon and I was thinking of The Harbour Hotel and Residence in Marina. For every 3 nights, you get a 4th free.., so over a month it's pretty reasonable, and breakkie is included too.

In your other thread you mentioned considering flatshares, I would check out some villa's in Jumeirah.

Click Click 2 Click 3

Just a few examples in a very quick look..

A few friends of me put their allowances together and renting a massive villa in that area, their place looks amazing

The nicest hotel apartments I have seen at a decent price are the Dusit Marina ones.

But Dubai Marina is miles away from Lamcy Plaza, surely? Why not get somewhere near the creek?

yeah, I agree...why go that far away, it's not like it's all happening at the Marina and you'll be paying extra just for the location.
why not look around in Oud Metha, that's the area where Lamcy is...before we moved to Mirdif we lived there and I really liked it...quite a few new apartments have been build over the past few years and it will be definately cheaper there. You'll be doing lots of driving/taxiing anyway when you go out cause that's the way Dubai is, places are spread out all over...

As someone living in the Greens and commuting to my office near Lamcy Plaza I actually prefer living at this end of town. There are more young people and more places to go out at the weekend. Plus it takes me 20 minutes to get in to work, so it's not a hardship.

Agree. I live in The Gardens, which must be the "greenest" place in Dxb, and commute to Nadd Al Shiba. Before when traffic was bad I was always going in opposite direction to the worst and now there is no traffic!!

I would live in Satwa, plenty hotels and bars etc all in walking distance and some great apartments round there too. Ten mins to work!
