Default Renting a Vehicle in Dubai

Hi all,

As I'm sure you're aware, there are plenty of car rental companies in the UAE. I need to find myself a motor this weekend so am hoping for any recommendations on who to go with...

Have you seen any deals or have had experience with anyone that's worth a mention?

Cheers

I've done that already There's a lot to choose from and not all include pricing (without lodging an enquiry first)

I thought I would ask the wisdom of BE for any first hand experience/advice on the matter

Ive used Diamond lease in knowledge village but always booked them through Holiday Autos, if you go to them direct the rates are not good. Rates vary from one week to the next and company to company depending on how many cars they have gathering dust. I always look at Kayak or holiday autos ..... these tend to dig out the best rates !

Used Paramount for years but we have a commercial deal.

I'd think they'll all be much of a muchness.

Negotiate.

Rented through Firefly when I first arrived. Their cars are generally 2-3 years old as they take the older cars from Hertz. But obviously, the price is cheaper.

It's part of Al Futtaim therefore reputable.

If it's just for a few days then go with a reputable dealer like Thrifty. They have outlets in the malls. Cars are fine. Rates are reasonable. Insurances are comprehensive. They don't nickle and dime you like the cheaper dealerships will do. There's always a catch if it seems really cheap, which usually reveals itself if something happens to the car and which is why I avoid the cheap places.

I second the kayak recommendation to get good rates. I've booked Thrifty and Hertz via kayak.

I used Fast Rent a Car for several years. They always treated me well and took care of any problems quickly.

Hertz has good rates actually directly too and new cars (mostly 2017 models). Cheaper places are usually a bid doggy, hit and miss really.

I have Honda Civic from Hertz at 1900 per month. Quite good car, 2017 model but probably buy something as well. Battery has died yesterday as well but Hertz was quick to replace it with Honda City.

What's it like when a Patrol or similar is close alongside or behind you?
Get a bigger car ASAP.
I used to pay 1550 for my Lancerghini.
