That was excellent reading Novita, I just cannot wait to be out there and may rethink my plans to stay longer now!
I was supposed to hop back n forth between here and Nz keeping the kids in NZ schools in between, but as winter hits harder and harder here, the sun is enticing me over.
Hope to be out in July, hubby goes next week!

I hope not Novi, If Qatar is now what Dubai was 6 years back, then you hope it stays that way!
My colleagues were on the road for 2 hours this morning (apparently there were gridlocks everywhere - SZR, Sharjah - not the normal everyday jam) coming into work. Everyone had a grumpy look !

Hey Novi,
Dubai was really nice 10 years back - quiet, bit laid back, travelling from one place to another didn't take more than 10-15 minutes (now travelling to the same places takes over an hour, so we just don't bother going out). I've heard from several people that Qatar is lovely (compared to what Dubai has now become) - and I hear the packages are also good

For once, it appears me and my other half have made the right choice!
Had 3 offers of jobs in Dubai, originally that was where we wnated but this one in Qatar just fell into our laps, run by a Brit or two, Canadian company been going years, and then there is the heat...lol
Its been -3 degrees here through the night and morning, here in sub-tropical NZ, where they say its shorts n T shirts all year round and winter is only 2 months long..yeh right!

Doha is very much like Dubai 10years ago. Everyone says that. I was in Dubai nearly 7 years ago and I remember it being so similar to Doha now. I am sure that we are in for a big change tho. There are huge plans for this country and of course theres no shortage of cahs and when a lot of ppl start moving out here things are bound to change. It has already become more expensive in one year so I am sure that the standard of living will keeping going up and up.
Will have to see what happens........
