Dear All,

I received a tempting offer to work in the gas sector (governmental) in Doha. In this respect and since it is a governmental agency I was wondering I am expecting them to ask me for a police clearance certifcate

I have been residing in Italy over the last years but once got caught with driving over the limit of alcohol in my blood in Germany whilst shortly living doing a secondment job.

In this respect I was wondering if any of you have experience in the requests to provide a police certificate. Will they ask for a police certificate of every country in which you have lived in (even for the short term) or is it simply the country where you are currently residing and/or of which you are a national.

Why tell them about Germany and risk them asking.

Thanks for your response... Well very simple, I had to declare where I worked over the past years. Thats's why I can't leave the germany part out...

You would not be the first one to write a creative CV leaving out little bits.

Well as i see it, you just need to wait and see what they ask for and then:

1. Provide it ; or
2. Make up a story - i didn't live there was resident in UK just commuted 4 days a week etc.

Also worth finding out if that offence is such a big deal. Also where were you charged. Germany or Italy?

Just provide a police certificate where you are currently ..
