Old Video of Dubai back in 1999 and 2000

Brings back fond memories and nostalgia. Sad to see what has become now of the beautiful Jumeirah beach which is now overshadowed by mega structures.

How come there is a pic of the Burj Al Arab?

It’s at the beginning ...on the right hand side of the pic.

I actually stayed in the Oasis Beach Hotel - the first one in the picture. It was lovely, sadly destroyed to make way for the monstrosity that is JBR.

Did you ever go to the bar in there, British couple were the regular singers there, she was "popular".

What was that other hotel, the one that had Hard Rock Cafe (crossed guitars) adjoining it? That was a decent place - and bar - too.

Closed 2009 or so I think.

Edited - Palm Hotel, or Palm Court Hotel?
