Suitable clothing question
I am a male starting work in Jeddah in a few months and would like some advice on suitable clothing outside of the compound. I am aware that long trousers and long sleeved shirts are appropriate. Would the more expensive "breathable" fabrics be more suitable? Or, is good old 100% cotton just fine over there? Cheers.

Re: Suitable clothing question
No problem with short sleeve shirts, T shirts here. I also go running in the streets and along the corniche in 3/4 length track suit bottoms, and again no problem (so far!).
Cotton is generally best, although can become heavy when wet - I run in a polyester top for this reason.
Hot and humid here yes, but compared with Dubai (I was there last week) and the Gulf in general, it is not too bad.
Many young nationals opt for T-Shirts and track suit bottoms. Except if you end up in a small conservative village area, as an expat you should be OK in long trousers and short sleeves.
Good luck!
