Default Lean Six Sigma in Middle East

Is it something that is allready popular? If no, do you think that in the future it will grow big?

Six Sigma works well in the technology manufacturing industry when you can closely control the inputs. It's a cartesian centred method.

Unfortunately I have found that it tends to be bollocks in general business and I much prefer complexity based management schemes as it more closely emulates the real world.

I'm sure a few companies would try and adopt it here without realising the limitations.

I'd buy into it.
Only if you trained the UAE business populus decision makers in it first.

So you are saying that if you are a Master Black Belt, then it will be very easy for you to get a job in countries such as the KSA and Qatar?

By the way which companies in those countries are allready implementing it and which companies are considering it?

Trying to find ways and systems to squeeze more production out of people? Is this what a normal person talks about?

Six Sigma building contractors have just opened up in the office opposite.

Went straight over my head when the guy explained meaning of name.

Still no wiser

Confused about Six Sigma? It's normal.

Never heard of it before.

On reading up about it, just seems like common sense dressed up in management speak, acronyms and certificates and awards for the 'good' boys.

I wonder where Toyota are these days? - Sub 6 for sure.

Alghanim in Kuwait have trained hundreds of managers to Green Belt and are always looking for acredited BB.

Like many bits of "management speak" it's actually extremely effective when done properly but regrettably often done badly which tarnishes the reputation.

However, IMHO, lean six sigma requires a level of actually giving a sh*t about what you're doing that the general Middle East workforce does not yet have, so it's doomed to failure here.
