Hi all

Although this is my first post, I have been regularly visting this forum for the past couple of months or so.

I was just wondering if there is anybody out there from the UK, who is struggling to find a job here in Dubai, or the Middle East in general.

I have a Bachelors in Manufacturing Engineering and Masters in IT, and would like to get a job and live here in the Middle East. However I haven't really had a single interview in my last three months here.

Another question that I have is, having been through various local newspapers, I don't really find the wages comparable to the UK ?? Graduates with 5 years experience for AED 2500 !!!

Does anyone have any advice on what could be my next step, as I am thinking to head back to the UK, or try my luck perhaps in the USA.

With a masters in IT, why not check some of the UAE universities, as they do pay quite well. Have you placed an ad in Gulf News classifieds, if not do so. Other than this, I would suggest that you read through my jobs article in my signature. Hope it helps.

Thanks Phillipz !! I have actually tried applying to 4 or 5 jobs for Qatar & UAE University’s. However due to barely just having 3 years experience in total… the response was….well what shall we say… not very favourable !

Can anyone recommend any recruitment agencies/companies in the UK (without sounding too personal!!) that specialise in placing people in the Middle East that you used eventually to get a job in the Middle East?

I recently came across ‘Network Overseas’ (based in London) who may eventually get the ball rolling!!
