Hi everyone,

I'm new here and don't know much rules of this forum so if i broke any rule here please ignore or just let me know so I can correct it.

I am a marketing consultant and from last couple of months I'm visiting Dubai on a very regular bases. Now, my company rented a apartment for me in Dubai, i have "Mulkiya" and a car there. Now because of traveling so much I just wanted to sell my car to save some expenses. The only issue is, I don't know the laws and any process of selling my vehicle in Dubai. Before going to some dealers or post some ads on internet I just need few guidelines and heads-up to save myself from future problems.

Please guide, will appreciate the help.

Chris, I think you better visit some car dealers in Dubai they can guide you.

Largely, it is the opposite of buying it.

1) Clear any outstanding finance on it - make sure the bank puts the clearance on the system (you will get a text message after 2 days)
2) Find a buyer
3) Go with buyer to the RTA - tell them you want to sell it to him
4) They will test it, he will insure it and registration passes to him.

Take the money off him once it's been tested and passed. Take the car registration card, your ID, passport and a book to read.

Be prepared to sit next to the person for a couple of hours in the RTA centre.
