Moved to Qatar 2 weeks ago, my temporary hotel accommodation is about to end - done some viewings but still can not find a decent and affordable compound in Doha

Will be working in west bay.

Appreciate your advise/recommendation.

What is the budget as decent and affordable is not a Doha term......

Budgets is 10000 max - preferably 2 BR apartment as I do not think that budget will get me even a small villa..

Drive around Al Sadd area, plenty of new places there that are furnished for QR8500 or maybe you will get a deal on a 3 bed for that. Also at the bottom of Al Waab st (Near the junction with expressway) there are compounds with apartments, gated now Gyms and nice pools. If you get the 3rd floor place you have a rooftop terrace which is big. 2 beds there are 9k ish

Where would you recommend for couple (in our 30s) and no kids. Would like compound where we can easily meet people and good facilities, not far from the old airport area.

Try Al Fardan Garden compound on D Ring. It's between the Mall and Lulu.
There are also a lot of smallish compounds on the "backside" of Lulu. Maybe worth a look. I think one of them is called Al Fereej compound.
