Getting wood

Getting wood
In Dubai I need to secure about a half dozen pieces of 2X4 lumber, cut to size but also notched in a specific way. I know it used to be possible to buy a length and get it cut at Ace but not sure they would be willing to cut out the notches I need.
Any suggestions on where I cold get this done? I've never spotted any places in Satwa, for example, that look like they could do this but maybe I just missed them?

Oh, goodness gracious me. The title was rather raunchily misleading now, wasn't it!?

Re: Getting wood
I'll get our packing guys to do it if you can be bothered going to Jebel AlI.

Buy an extra piece to practice on, if you have doubts about your woodworking skills.

Re: Getting wood
Having said that, I've got some pieces already cut to length and I've had a go (a couple of gos in fact) with the entirely unsuitable jigsaw and hacksaw that I possess here, but there is just too much wood to remove and i can't get any kind of precision. I am lacking a proper vise or clamping table or any decent woodworking equipment. And much as I would love to splash out on a shiny DeWalt swing saw (I like power tools like others like cars and watches) I'd have nowhere to put it and it would hardly be a worthwhile investment...

Bear in mind that routers are the number one finger removal tool though.

They are far more 'B&Q' than Ace.

Re: Getting wood
I think they are too deep and wide (and I still need a clamp/workmate) but now you've got me thinking about it, I want a hand router.

Re: Getting wood
It's for people who want to do more than paint a cupboard door or put up one picture. I like places like that.
