Hi, Thanks for your response, I understand it can't be an exact figure as each is different in tastes, preferences etc.

300-400 Riyals sounds appealing as that is what i was hoping. First month or two i will be just eating in or grabbing lunch near the DIFC.

Hopefully Qatar is similar to dubai?

I budget 5-700 for two people for a food shop for the week - that is dinners and most lunches covered.

Add on weekend food and you're probably at a thousand ish for two people.

Almost impossible to get lunch in DIFC for under 30dh. That’s 650dh a month right there.

I reckon I get through 1200-1500 a month, excluding weekends and lunches bought at work (although I usually take my own). Don’t forget that you also need to buy other non food groceries.

I've blown 4 or 500 in 3 days, but that's hotel living for you. Can't wait to get a place of my own.

How long is a piece of string?

You can load up on sandwiches from supermarkets for 10-20 AED. Get a bag of crisps for another 5 AED and you have a cheap lunch. Or even dinner.

DIFC has a metro stop and take a few stops northbound and you'll find a thousand and one cheap Indian restaurants to pick from.

Or cook everything in your accommodation.

I'm single. I spend maybe 200/week for groceries and that covers most of my meals. Then another 250ish dining out on weekends. I don't go crazy.

You bought something grown in China? Most polluted country on earth.

There's plenty of perfectly fine apples from Spain or Italy or NZ in the market. But I'm guessing you wanted the humongous, perfectly green and waxed apple that looks like it came out of Snow White

nope - it's a nice big pink apple - have no clue if it was actually grown in China or whether the name was given to the apple

I'm always put off by the China Fuji, it's like a pastel light pink apple, doesn't quite look right...

Saying that, the 'perfect' looking American apples freak me out.
