Do I need an appointment to lodge passports? Also health insurance??
Hi,
I'm going through the process of getting a family residency visa. Hubby has emailed over the Iqama so documents wise I'm doing okay (touch wood!)
I'm at the FCO attesting stage at the moment...
I'm not using an agent as I can't justify paying £267 to just send our passports to the embassy and back so I'm going it alone
Could I just ask...is there anything else I need to do online before going to hand in our passports? Do I need to register my application first? How do I do that? The Saudi embassy website is so confusing to use
Also, do I need to make an appointment at the Saudi embassy in London or can I just go anytime btw 9 and 12 and lodge the passports?
There seems to be a new requirement now as well...all applicants need health insurance. Does that apply just to me or to my children as well?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Just a suggestion......make the small investment to a Visa agent and spare yourself all the hassle and maybe getting it wrong.
Just a thought......use it......etc.

Do it yourself..... That's not how we do it in the Middle East!!
Pay someone else to do it and then sit back and take a load off!

tbh, I'm starting to think the same way. As soon as I think I'm making progress, something else comes up, it's a nightmare.

The Arabic proverb is "If you want bread, go to the baker." ie get a specialist to do it.

It does look like this is going to be the easiest option...

Welcome to the Middle East! If they can make something a lot more complicated than it needs to be they will.... It keeps the locals employed while still doing virtually nothing!
