Expenses each month in Dubai - help
Hi guys,
So I'm moving to Dubai in August and am working through how much I'll roughly need to spend on things each month.
I was hoping you guys may be able to help and see if I'm missing anything on here.
I've tried to go OTT worst case scenario on some of these numbers, but feel free to tell me if I'm way off.
My monthly salary is 22,500 so just trying to see roughly what I may be left with each month.
Rent - 6000 (studio near JLT)
Internet Tv package - 400
Bills (gas, electricity etc) - 1500
Food groceries - 1000
Eat out x2 per week each week - 1200
Taxis - 1000
Leisure fees (football) - 500
Mobile - 500
Drinks/social - 1500
Would this be about right?
Thanks

Just been to Dubai one months myself. Moved here from London. I would say your budget is top end for single person. In my own observation, prices in Dubai is about 30% more expensive than London nowadays apart from any kids staff which is like 4 times more expensive. Anything "leisure" here means double or triple money you would pay back in U.K.

Not sure, my wife used taxis for about two weeks for "shorter" trips. Each trip cost her about 40-50 AED or 100 AED a day. He might even break 1000 AED per month. Dubai is truly getting really expensive. Uber as alternative is even more expensive.

I wouldn't consider 40-50 in a taxi a short trip

you need to factor in 5% housing fee, which will billed monthly as part of your dewa bill (dubai water & electricty) - 5% of whatever your annual rental is.
You will need to pay a deposit for your dewa connection as well as your AC connection - usually AED 2k each - which of course you will get back once you vacate the aprt.
My internet, tv and mobile is usually on average AED 1k a month, but i do have the movie channel package
1500 on booze for a month is well under - but i guess it depends on how much you drink and where you go
