Enrolled in E gate - Question?
About a week ago I passed through Immigration at Abu Dhabi Airport for a short stopover while transiting. The guy told me to look into the camera and then stamped my passport and put a sticker on the back saying "Enrolled in E gate" I am not a UAE resident.
On my way out of Abu Dhabi, at immigration, I used the automated gate. Now my question is that can I also use the automated gates at Dubai Airport (T1)?
Tried to read more about it online, but just ended up being confused, as they mention Smart Gate, e-gate and new E gate.

Re: Enrolled in E gate - Question?
Your passport is now enrolled in Smart Gates and you can use it just the same when arriving in Dubai.
Something like 39 countries can have Smart Gate access even if not resident. If you fly into DXB by Emirates you will notice that there are now more e/smart gates than immigration desks. Very efficient system for arrivals, but problem is that there is still no Smart Gate for departures (they do have egate for departure).

This is where I am confused, what is the difference between a Smart Gate and egate? As the sticker on my passport says e gate.
