very scary! there will be a rent review at the end of this year and no one knows what it will be. If I was you I would get an apartment in the Bur Dubai, Mankhool area. Go under budget then your back is covered for a few years. There are some great coffee mornings running round that area that I can put you in touch with once you get here. Why waste money on rent?

I think that would be the best idea.. they are only here for the school hols anyway, Samali.. how old are your teenagers? It can be a bit tough here for teenagers on holiday.

Got plenty of time, so will keep looking for a 2bed apt. Your advice on rent was very helpful, majority of time my husband will be there on his own. Because we (kids and I) are the ones that will take up the space when we are there.

Children are 15yrs and 12yrs. My son is 6ft3 and into body boarding, swimming, playing drums and bass guitar And my daughter is into horse riding, animals and girlie stuff We all enjoy the sun and outdoors, so hope to incorporate some of their interests when we are visiting

I wonder - are there many other families in a similar situation to my arrangement??

The six week summer hol will be a no go here for many outdoor activities, its much too hot. And i was in your situation for three yrs before i came here to live.
