British midwife moving to Qatar
I've just managed to secure a job with sidra as a midwife. Are there any midwife there already? What is it like?
I will be relocating with my husband and 2 children ( 3&1) so I want to ensure I'v got as much info as possible. Anything will help. What is your experience so far? |

Sidra Hospital is in Doha in Qatar. Still under boycott and in a state of siege is it not ? Welcome and good luck if you go there. What is FCO Advice on travel to Qatar ?

I have no great faith in the British Govt but this is what the Foreign Office (FCO) is saying on their website about travel to Qatar

Hi there and welcome to BE.
I know this was intended for Intros but as there is an ongoing conversation I will move this to the Middle East forums for you . Those in the area will be along to chat. I have also tweaked the title a little regards BEVS |

Re: British midwife moving to Qatar
Hello,
and welcome. Dont worry there is nothing wrong with traveling to Doha or living there for that matter. It is still technically under a blockade from the arab side but Iran and Turkey are providing a lot of support from the other side. Things are stable for the moment and my own perception is that it is in everyones interest to keep it that way. There are a few Doha Expats here who can give you a better insight into which area to look for a house etc so you should be ok, dont worry about it |
