Default Attesting documents

Hi all

My husband and I are in the process of job hunting to relocate to Dubai. I'm trying to get as much in place in advance as possible and would like to check about getting documents attested as a lot of the forum info I can find seems to be quite old.

Am I right in thinking we just need to get:
1. Our marriage certificate - does this need to be translated into Arabic?
2. Uni qualifications
3. Do we also need birth certificates attesting (I've read you do if you have children which we don't)

Also, although we're British, we got married in the US. I've found a couple of companies who have offered to process this part for us but are asking for c.£350 in fees. Does anyone have any experience in doing it themselves directly with the relevant US departments?

Many thanks
