Any information helpful- considering move to Riyadh
Hi all, any info would be helpful as we are just starting to look into Riyadh. We are a family of 4, both me and my husband are nurses. He is an advanced nurse practitioner in neurosurgery and has lots of experience in teaching/management. I am a mental health nurse who specialised in dementia and currently work inspecting care homes/ hospitals. We have 2 children, 1 nursery age and 1 school age.
What kind of jobs/salaries would we be looking at?
What is nursing accomodation like for families?
Would we have support with school/nursery fees from our employer? Ideally we would look at the British school, could we be placed on this compound?
I previously taught English in china, could this be put to use in a job?
Would we earn enough to save a substantial amount?
What other benefits would employers offer?
Could I work part time? Is it feasible working with a young family in Riyadh?
Thanks

What kind of jobs/salaries would we be looking at? - Depends on the hospital and your nationality. Military hospitals seem to pay better than civilian. Nationality is reflected in your salary. Western expat - highest, Filipinos, Indians etc get lower salaries.
What is nursing accomodation like for families? Again depends on hospital. - Fairly basic generally.
Would we have support with school/nursery fees from our employer? Ideally we would look at the British school, could we be placed on this compound? - Not a chance.
I previously taught English in china, could this be put to use in a job? - Do you speak Chinese, or Arabic? Requirement for English teaching without quals or Arabic....not so much.
Would we earn enough to save a substantial amount? - depends on your lifestyle. Riyadh is expensive.
What other benefits would employers offer? - Medical, end of service benefits, accomodation. Thats about it.
Could I work part time? Is it feasible working with a young family in Riyadh? - not as a nurse. Currently no part time working in KSA though I think that is changing in future but nursing probably won't feature.
