not my area of expertise, but would I be right in thinking that this is more likely to be sourced far more cheaply from east of the UAE rather than west of it?

BTW,

abh dhabi = Abu Dhabi
dubia = Dubai

on second thoughts, I think I prefer Dubia actually...

I think most of the labour on this type of project, including supervisors and management is likely, as Sicklyman says, to come from India/Pakistan/Pilipinas.

Would be critical for the supervisor to be able to communicate with the labour crews in their own language(s) so unless it is some very specialist technical kind of scaffolding, that sounds like a tough position to secure as a Brit....

Ever heard a scaffolder speak on site in the UK?

I'm not sure what language is used but it's certainly not English so they might be ok

Probably best to look under "Canada" instead of "Middle East" on the main page then, 'Steven'.

There's a definite need for advanced scaffolding managers or working field supervisory Scaffs .

We have them as it's just a must on mass projects where you're looking at advanced design and application especially with support systems with bridges and offshore stuff . The bog standard support stuff is run of the mill but look at the specialist guys for contacts .
