Bit of a trek. Well - not in Texas terms, but i'm near Fort Worth - shout if you're ever this way :)

yeah there are quite a few of us in the dallas area - we specifically are in McKinney. There are facebook groups for brits in mckinney and British expats in DFW

Adding onto Elui's post - make sure you take a day trip to visit Dallas/Fort Worth area - maybe even a weekend if time and hotel costs allow.
