Redcar brings back so many memories of day trips to the seaside as a kid. In the days before foreign travel I seem to remember Redcar being popular with the Scots as a holiday destination....brrrr indeed
I lived in Eston for a while but mainly lived around the Acklam/Easterside area apart from a few yeras in Doggie.............

Wow that's great, some days it does seem to be a small world...

I recently found a forum member who was born a mile from where my wife was born, (Mansfield Notts area), she moved to Banner Cross at an early age, she is emigrating today, flying back to Sheffield as we speak.

CAdreaming am I right in thinking you fly "home" fairly frequently? For some reason I get the impression you go back every 3 months or so...if so, you are one lucky sod! Say Hi to the Blue Bell if you pass

Bingley, West Riding. (There will always only be Ridings for me!)

So very sorry about Charlie, JG; I feel your pain -- yesterday it was the fourth anniversary of the death of one of my dogs and I still miss her, even though she lived to be almost 17 and had an amazing life.

Wakefield for the first 20 years of my life, then Holmfirth for the next 10. I can do without Wakey, but miss the scenery of the Holme Valley.

Don't miss any of it as much as I miss heading down to Elland Road every other weekend, season ticket holder for 20 years.

Are we talking temporary or permanent ???

I was hoping to be living in the UK again by now, of course home sales have hampered that plan.

Both.

We would move back to the UK permanently if our daughter was there...unfortunately she's living in Canada...which sort of throws a spanner in the works.

Is there any chance your daughter will move back to the UK???

I remember going up Fargate and the Moor as a little kid to see the Christmas lights, it was always a thrill, Sheffield's Christmas lights were always lovely, we'd make a special trip into town just to see at them...

As a teenager I would always call in at the Thorntons Chocolate Cabin on Arundel Gate on my way back to Pond St, My in laws came a few months ago and brought me a few items, I love Thorntons...

I just noticed the print under Charlie, Wow, I'm very sorry, My sisters each lost a pooch this year, it really does take its toll, we lost our dog on Nov 5th 99, an easy day to remember, we made the decision at that time to not have another dog till we arrive back in the UK, I look forward to that....

I'm sure Charlie was a lovely dog, King Charles really are great companions...
